Alloy Battery Box (#510)-Mychron (#521)-Switch (#509).
Received these samples end of March and will sample over the next few weeks and advise.
These 3 pieces will be able to be bought as a kit or separately.
They are made of Aluminium '5052' and are a CONSIDERABLE weight saving.
(#521) Several alterations were made to the original Stainless Steel Mychron mount. While I realize that the Stainless is for strength while on track, I think these replacement pieces will do the job.
- They are taller which allows you to place your Mychron within plain sight instead of looking down, 2nd hole is 12mm higher and the third hole is 25mm higher overall than standard.
- They have been stepped back a few mm again from the wheel to allow for any self adjustment.
- Have removed excess material not needed.
- Are a direct replacement of your original Mychron mount.
- Original Stainless Steel weighed in at 104.80 while these FLASH Alloy's weigh in at 37.94g a saving of 66.86grams.
(#510) The battery box in steel weighs 274.01 where the FLASH Alloy piece weighs in at 115.61 a weight saving of 158.4 grams
- These are a straight replacement of your existing steel unit and bolt in the same way with the same hardware.
(#509) Switch Holder. These are the same as the steel pieces but weight much less. The steel units weight 121.13 while the FLASH Alloy pieces weighs 39.93 a saving of 81.20 grams.
By using all three pieces, the steel combined weight is 499.94 grams where the 3 FLASH Alloy pieces combined weight is 193.48 gram.
TOTAL WEIGHT saving of 306.46 grams.
I am hoping to have 'all three' of these pieces to sell for around $50 all up.
Will post them up when available, after we do some testing.
Please....offer up any ideas or improvements!
The site requires me to put a price.....so I have.
