TITANIUM - FLASH Bead Locks. Part no #515

NEW style of Bead Lock to better secure your O Rings to your rim in either Titanium (available here) or Stainless Steel elsewhere on the site.

Weight per kit for mail 43 grams.

These Beads will hold your rubber O Ring in place by containing them in a cavity, not letting them distort as you wind the Bead into the rim.

You can see in the close up picture of the rim, there is just a very small opening between the actual Bead and the rim. We recommend this as if you screw the bead to the rim, it will gouge the rim and may distort the O Ring inside.

The main improvements with these Beads;
* A full cavity underneath the Bead head to contain the O Ring.
* We have made the head of the Bead flatter to get away from errant front bumpers.
* We then made the Bead head wider to better accommodate the O Ring and secure better.
* Then we made the 3mm Hex into the head of the Bead deeper, where as the stock units were 1.9mm deep, the Flash Beads are 3.4mm deep.
* We also went to a slightly thicker O Ring for sealing purposes....BUT, if push comes to shove and your at the track in trouble, the older smaller O Ring will get you out of trouble,

We supply a Twirler in the kit and by using this Twirler you will not be able to put as much pressure (FORCE) onto the Bead into the rim.

This Twirler is also custom made to suit these Beads.
- As we made the recess in the top of the Bead deeper, the other available Twirler units did not accommodate the extra depth, so we made them longer.
- When we were doing all the specs to make these Twirlers, we found out that Asia-Pacific, the U.S. and Europe all have different tyre valve sizes. We could not originally figure out why our local sample did not fit nicely. SO....these Twirlers fit the Asia-Pacific valves....the ones that you have. PLUS, these have a hole up the guts for the longer headed valves.
- We also recommend using the Twirler rather than a ratchet or a palm held ratchet as that would generate a lot of force...(Stainless Steel into Aluminium) where the Twirler gives you a feel of the tension without over tightening and pinching/squeezing the O Ring (as the original problem).

The FLASH Bead Kit comes with 12 Bead Locks, 12+ (spare) O Rings and the FLASH Twirler.

As a comparison, the Stainless Beads weight 2.94g each and the Titanium Beads weight 1.93g each. Overall that is 12.12g LESS off your driven weight!
